Adidas Pro Am Series at Geelong Golf Club Ends in Jaw-Dropping Tie
Rick Kulacz and Andrew Kelly shared the victory at the Adidas Pro Am Series at Geelong Golf Club, which ended in a jaw-dropping tie!
The $15,000 purse attracted 186 players, amateurs and PGA professionals alike. Kulacz and Kelly clinched the top spot with an impressive -4 (29) score, highlighting a day of exceptional golfing talent. To quote PGA of Australia’s Heath McLeod, “Geelong Golf Club’s 9 Hole Pro Am is the best in the series”.
Paul Christie, Venue Manager and PGA professional, said, “Without the support of our sponsors, events like this would not be possible. We’re humbled by their continued support for Geelong Golf Club and the Adidas Pro Am Series.”

Outstanding performances along with the overall winners included A Grade division, Paul Heard winning with an impressive 20 points, closely followed by Louis Van Ingen and Jackson Lever, who were the runner-up and third-place, respectively.
In B Grade division, Giuseppe Venuto and Shane Leonard shared the spotlight with matching scores of 20 points, while Tim Booley secured third place with 18 points.
Not to be outdone, Billy Ritchie emerged as the C Grade division winner with 21 points with Murphy Coote and Paul Hansen close behind, claiming the second and third place with matching scores of 21 points.
Throughout the event, Geelong Golf Club served as the perfect backdrop for the final event in the Adidas Pro Am Series. “I could not be prouder of the team at Geelong Golf Club,” said Paul. From the Pro Shop to the marquees, fairways, and practice range, the team grouped together to present a memorable experience for all players.
“Thanks to Storm Ord PGA Professional and Jack Larkin PGA Associate who have worked alongside me in the planning and lead up to the Pro Am. Organising events such as this is not an easy feat. From collaborating with the PGA of Australia, registering professional golfers to ensuring our amateur players have an understanding of the event day rules, is a lot, but we do so proudly!
“The support and knowledge of PGA of Australia’s Heath McLeod and Loretta Hughes was outstanding. We thank them for their contribution as they served as marshals ensuring its smooth execution and fair play throughout. We look forward to working with them again at the 2025 Pro Am,” Paul concluded.
As the last putt sank on the 2024 MMD Geelong 9 Hole Pro Am, participants and spectators witnessed exceptional golfing talent in extremely tough conditions. With its unwavering commitment to excellence, Geelong Golf Club has solidified its place as a highlight on the Australian golfing calendar.
