Junior Pathway into Golf

A Pathway to Learn How To Be A Professional Golfer

Our goal is to offer a pathway lead by PGA Professionals for junior golfers to be a part of and to learn what it takes to become a Professional or elite golfer. This Academy will be aimed at Juniors that have a passion for golf and wish to see if they have what it takes to become one of the best.  Along with their journey through this Academy school results and grade standards are big part of their success to us as well and is a part of their pathway to a Professional career.

ACADEMY PROGRAM - There are 3 levels of the Academy that juniors will jorney through from entry level junior clinics. First level will be Intermediate, Second level Advanced and Third level Elite. As juniors go through the Academy they will be track with the progress through goal setting and performances. 

LEVEL STRUCTURES

Intermediate Level – This is the first set some will take into the Academy and is the point at were Juniors are getting initial handicaps at level to play club competitions, introduction of Flightscope/Trackman to learn and start understanding the numbers. Video analysis breaking the swing down to learn more about it. Inroduction of shot selections around the greens, green reading and putting. Introduction of keeping basic statistics e.g., Fairways hit and putting. 

Advanced Level  - We move into introduction and importance of pre shot routines and specific drills, shot selections for different scenarios and on course management. We look more into changing individual numbers and dialling in on Flightscope/Trackman. Work with kids on course to watch how they manage their rounds then working with them to change their mindset or shot selections. Increasing the statistics to become more precise on what areas need to be worked on. Aim for kids to enter and participate in higher levels on competitions, representing the Academy in district and pennant events.

Elite Level - At this level we start preparing for high level tournaments e.g. Aus Open/Vic Open, pre-tournament planning, practice rounds looking at the course and working on game plans and specific shots require for course conditions. Fine tuning Flightscope/Trackman numbers, working on distance control, equipment changes if necessary. Looking into all areas of statistics, fine turning skills, being able to execute more advanced skills, more in-depth on course management. Introduction of fitness to be sourced externally with trainers.

These clinics run on a fortnightly basis in small groups of 5 to 8 Juniors. 

COACHES - PGA Professionals Darrell Brown overseeing programs and running elite level Juniors. PGA Professionals Storm Ord and Jack Lakin will run Advanced and Intermediate and the recruitment of Juniors.
